Okay, now this is getting even weirder!

Tuesday, June 30th, 2009

Okay, update on the Michael Jackson saga:

We now hear (and it has been verified) that those three kids of Michael’s are NOT his biological kids AND, to make this even stranger, it now turns out that Debbie Rowe is NOT their biological mother!

YYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

One report has it that the real biological father is Debbie Rowe’s DERMATOLOGIST!!!!!

How much more FUBAR can this get?  Hang on…wait till they let loose the supposed will.

Who’s Next?

I just read that Billy Mays, the guy who pushed Oxy-clean and hundreds of other products and also one of the stars of “Pitchmen” on Discovery Channel, died this morning.

NBC Nightly News has a piece on it which will air very shortly (like in the next 10-15 minutes!)

We lost three giants:

Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson

Locally, we lost John Calloway.

Sheesh

We lose another giant

Wednesday, June 24th, 2009

First, Ed McMahon passes away in California.

Now, the papers carry the news that John Calloway, the man who brought “Chicago Tonight” and “Chicago Stories” to the viewers of Channel 11, WTTW, died in Racine, WI, after suffering a heart attack in a store there.

Out of cycle update

Wednesday, June 24th, 2009

Microsoft released and out of cycle update for the .NET framework.

Apparently, there is a problem that they thought was serious enough to do this.

I can’t find anything in my M$ security emails talking about it so if you know that the update is about, leave a comment.

A quick tech bit

Friday, June 12th, 2009

As of the end of June, Microsoft won’t be selling Money anymore.

Yep, after 18 years, MS is tossing in the towel and stopping development of Money.

Here’s a link to the article in USA Today about it: http://blogs.usatoday.com/technologylive/2009/06/microsoft-money-suddenly-canceled-after-18-years.html

NOTE: That link is all on one line.    Unfortunately, tinyURL doesn’t seem to like this one.

Lotsa stuff

Friday, June 12th, 2009

This will be in the podcast.  (My GOD.  He’s actually going to DO one?  Yeah..too much strange stuff going on not to comment on it!)

Today is the BIG CUTOVER.  From about noon until midnight tonight, your analog TVs turn into very large paperweights if you haven’t gone and gotten a converter box and maybe a new antenna.  Remember that if you have satellite, cable or a digital TV, you’re good to go.  Otherwise, best get yourself to radio shack or bestbuy or somewhere to get that box.

The police are looking for whoever left a newborn baby in a yard in Wheaton.  I DO mean an newborn.  The infant still had it’s umbilical cord attached!  WTF!  I hope they find the nimrod that did this.  I mean, after all the talk about save havens (fire, police or hospital), WHY?????  Needlessly putting a newborn at extreme risk by doing this?

Blair has recalled robes that can catch fire.  Here’s the link from the Chicago Tribune: http://tinyurl.com/msvrac

EDIT: Not only are people in Crestwood asking hard questions about that poisoned well business, but folks in the following municipalities WHO GET THEIR WATER FROM A PRIVATE WELL have been advised by the EPA to have those wells checked for evidence of vinyl chloride.  The town involved are: Lynwood, Ford Heights and Sauk Village.

More later on today when I put the ‘cast up.
