More BS in Harvey

Monday, September 27th, 2010

I don’t know when those idiots in that town are going to learn.

Here’s yet the latest in quadruple-dipping by a public official in Harvey.

Keith Price stripped of three out of four offices

Shoulda bounced him out of all of ‘em.

It’s dead eh?

Monday, September 20th, 2010

Okay, now BP has pronounced that the well in the Gulf is officially dead (someone resurrect the Coroner from the Wizard of OZ!)

Now the big question is: how long will BP stick it out down there, especially since the EPA and others have said that it’s going to take years, maybe decades, to get rid of the oil that’s in the water now.

A word of warning on Dell LCD monitors

Friday, September 3rd, 2010

Well, I knew it would happen sooner or later.

If you happen to have a Dell LCD monitor, don’t be too shocked if you find a padlock on your screen and alternately opens and closes.

that’s the OSD lock and it’s FUBARd!  Great engineering, Dell!  Anyhow, there ARE some fixes, but some are rather long and boring.  This one seems to work more often than not:

Go to the control panel (start, settings, control panel) and then click on display.  Now this is important.  change the resolution to the highest that the computer will let you do, click apply and then OK.

Go and chage the resolution back to what it was and again, click on apply and then OK.  If it doesn’t take the first time, do it again.

This should take out the padlock.  Oh, DON’T TOUCH THE BUTTONS ON THE MONITOR!!!!!  Do that and guess what comes back and, this time, may not be so easy to remove.
