Tiger wins the WGC-Bridgestone Championship after Padraig Harrington makes a fatal error on the 16th and Tiger lands his second shot within two feet of the hole.
Absolutely amazing! That’s number 70 and he’s gotten there quicker than either Jack or Sam Snead!
It’s happening.
Tiger’s on a charge and is now tied with Paddy Harrington at –10.
Here he comes.
Tuesday evening, starting at 8 PM Eastern, ESPN will start showing the 2009 World Series of Poker.
First up, I think, is the $40K no-limit hold ‘em tournament.
Just remember that they’ve set this up so that things will build up to the final table in November.
Okay, you poker fiends out there (and I *know* there are some!), the WSOP 2009 is now in session at the Rio in Vegas.
The schedule for the granddaddy of all poker tournaments is here.
One neat twist, since this is the 40th anniversary of the WSOP is a VERY special tournament open to the 27 living past champions. What does the winner of this special tournament get?
My money’s on Doyle, as always. *grin*
Another interesting twist is that, in all games, the players start out with three times the amount of their buy-in. There is a very special tournament that has a buy-in of $40,000, in honor of the 40th anniversary.
The only event that has a higher buy-in is the $50,000 H.O.R.S.E. tournament.
It will be on ESPN later on this year.
But, if you want to keep tabs on what’s happening, check out the official site.
EDIT: The official schedule of games and results is HERE!
Are people this stupid or don’t they realize that if you’re an elected official, the Feds could be very well checking up on you?
Ald. Ike Carruthers of the 29th Ward, was indicted along with developer Calvin Boender. The charges: Carrathurs accepted $40.000 in imporvements to this residence along with trips and sporting event tickets in exchange for his backing aproject of Boender’s.
Wotta idiot!
And speaking of idiots, Carlos Zambrano got a 6 game suspension for bumping umpire Mark Carlson as well as throwing his glove atthe dugout fence, throwing the ball into left field and then demolishing the Gatorade dispenser in the dugout. Still, he’ll only miss one start, but it’s gonna cost him money, as well as a long chat with manager Lou Pinella.
