This afternoon, along the Chicago River, there will be a memorial service for the victims of the Eastland disaster, which occurred 95 years ago, today.

The Eastland steamer was going to take Western Electric workers on an excursion cruise when it capsized in the Chicago River.

One bit of trivia with this is that the Oprah studios was one of the temporary morgues where the bodies of the victims were taken and, to some, is still haunted today.

This story really creeped me out when I read it.

Thank heavens the auction house had the good sense to pull them.

Okay, update on the Michael Jackson saga:

We now hear (and it has been verified) that those three kids of Michael’s are NOT his biological kids AND, to make this even stranger, it now turns out that Debbie Rowe is NOT their biological mother!

YYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

One report has it that the real biological father is Debbie Rowe’s DERMATOLOGIST!!!!!

How much more FUBAR can this get?  Hang on…wait till they let loose the supposed will.

I can’t believe this.  Some poor guy was dead for WEEKS in a minivan that he borrowed from a friend and NOT ONE COP NOTICED THE BODY IN THE BACK????!!????

If I was the Commissioner, I’d be asking some really uncomfortable questions.  It took a freaking MARSHALL to notice the body in the back!!!!

A woman in Arnold, Mo. was arrested for shoplifting when she was slow in figuring out that she was trying to get out an automatic enter door and quite loud in expressing her frustration. (From News of the Weird and KSDK, St. Louis)

A guy named Nathaniel Johnson was arrested in March in Tampa, Fl. on burglary charges when the police had evidence of his presence in a neighborhood that was having a rash of break-ins.  The evidence?  He was wearing an ankle monitor from a previous arrest! (From News of the Weird and WFTS, Tampa)
