If you look at the post with the election results and look at the voting in Illinois, the voting went pretty much as it has in the past.

What did surprise me was the large republican block in Southern Illinois. Another thing that struck me was the democratic finger sliding down the western edge of the state.

Most interesting.

We have a new President.  For the first time EVER, we have elected a man of color to the highest office in the land and the most powerful political office in the world.

My hearty congratulations to President-elect Obama and his staff of workers all across the country.

Mayor Tom McDermott of Hammond made the prediction that Indiana was going for Obama and that’s all he needed to win.

My only caution to the President-elect’s fans is, don’t cop an attitude that you’re better than everyone else.  We’re all in this together and the President-elect will need ALL our help to bring this country through these most trying of times.

God bless him and guide him.

Like I promised earlier, I’m going to put up a widget for the presidential election and also for Illinois.

Illinois:

According to the news wires, the bones found at the site of Steve Fossett’s plane wreck have been identified by DNA as those of Fossett.

Steve was an options trader in Chicago who had a great zest for life and all the possible adventures you could have and he certainly did.

From soloing around the world in a hot-air balloon to soloing around the world in a one-man airplane, Steve Fossett certainly did live a life that would have been worthy of that legendary literary figure, Walter Mitty.

I’m glad, for his family, that they now have remains which to bury.  I am also glad that he didn’t suffer, as the NTSB investigators have said that he certainly died on impact judging this from the site itself and the manner in which the wreckage was scattered.

Well, I upgraded WP to 2.6.2 and, lo and behold, GoDaddy had the podpress plugin.

A quick check of the configurations, changing a few things, and VOILA!

The feed, she is fixed.
